One of the biggest ambitions of World Health Organization (WHO) in the third millennium is maintaining and enhancing maternal and neonatal health. To this end, various measures to improve the quality of services provided for this vulnerable section have been taken. However, one of the biggest problems is lack of awareness among mothers and families regarding maternal and neonatal health care. The responsibility of raising this awareness is on health system.

Regarding this, Maternal, Fetal, and Neonatal Research Center together with Breastfeeding Research Center established a Neuro-development Research Center in order to provide satisfactory services. These services consist of supporting, informing, counseling, and educating.

The purpose here is to encourage breastfeeding, teaching breast-milk feeding techniques and management of neonates with special diseases, investigating neuro-development in preterm and/or at-risk neonates, along with child care including massaging, feeding, bathing, and vaccination.
